Because they think Stanley bottles look rugged and blue collar, and that's always been the trend for cityniggers, liberals, and losers. They always want to look rural and outdoorsy, without actually expending the effort to go outside. Same reason they wear Carhartt. Same reason they made up their own "supply company" apparel. Same reason they wear Patagonia, but can't tell you the last time they actually did something as simple as hiking.

Idk but i bought a 1L stanley thermos some 2-3 years ago 50% off(~25 euro), been using it almost daily and it works perfectly. Holds my drinks hot for a long time still. No idea about the class thing, it works and i like it.
