>>2702730damn you are dense. you think this only goes one way? i dont benefit from others land just like they benefit from mine? this isnt a truly collective deal made to the benefit of all?
we havent kept livestock on my land since early 70s, thats the last time we used it for summer farming but we let some neighbours use our right.
how do you think we got the livestock there? we drove it straight through the property of xx other land owners, how do you think they got there livestock to their summer farms? droving it straight through ours.
do you think we fenced them there? nope, they roamed free between properties, it was a common agreement, thats just how we rolled. we just gathered them up every evening for milking.
you can still see this today driving around here, suddenly there are sheep, cattle, goats or reindeer walking on the road unfenced and unheerded. then you are driving through such area. if the state or any other land owner dont want our animals on the road they must fence it out, its literally not our problem we as locals has agreed on these rules. if you hit one you are liable. you have the right to drive here but no one invited you and better make up for your mistakes on our land.
i have been into the history of our usa emmigrants and it was a huge culture shock to them that they where given tiny plots of land and was expected not to step outside of them, not that there was anything usefull outside of it anyway. such a downgrade many gave up and returned home where they could actually utilize the land.
