I live in pic rel and have a burning desire to get outside for a few nights. It's around 32F and it snowed last night, I've never done winter camping before.
1. Where do you even camp in the winter? There's a national forest in the middle of the state, that's about a 3 hour drive.
2. How necessary is a proper winter tent with a stove, for 32F and not too stormy conditions? I want to be comfortable but don't want to spend money, I have lots of warm clothing, hand warmers etc
