Lets talk about summer, and the gear related around it. Seems like all we talk about is the best layers for cold as dick weather, what about the opposite side of the spectrum? Summers a crazy ball game for backpacking, sacrificing luxuries for gallons of water at times. What do you wear in ~100 F weather , dry or humid? Ive went with coolmax wool socks, light ass trail runners, cargo shorts, and a synthetic t shirt with sunglasses and a bandana (helps keeping long sweaty hear from sticking to my forehead) But at the same time i feel like i should be wearing pants. Vipers, Cacti, gila monsters... are there good summer pants that breath nice yet keep my legs safe

i work outside all summer (landscaper) so i have to wear long pants, steeltoe boots, company tshirt (red gildan dry blend), safety vest, and a hardhat. here in MN it can get to over 90f with 70%+ humidity so it fucking sucks but after a few weeks it's not so bad anymore.

After working for years outdoors in the summer for extra money, I've noticed lightly colored drumming shorts or cotton white tshirts are amazing, as well as a breathable brimmed hat. I also had to wear boots for this job. That kinda sucked, but I sort of got use to it after a while. If you want to wear pants, get literally the lightest pair you can. It sucks having to wear pants on the summer.

I live in Australia, so most of my time out fucking stinking hot. I usually wear a boonie, some sunnies and light clothes. I got some really nice button up khaki hiking shirts and zip off pants/shorts. The zip offs are more than usefull because I can use them full length for work (trapping animals for research in god forsaken spiny heath-land tick infested heath-land) as well as recreation as shorts, just hiking along trails and that. I use the same boots in the summer as I do winter just much thinner socks.

Any conversion pants worth buying? You know, pants with zip off legs? I usually wear pants, even in muggy 100+ full humidity - it can be hell sometimes but I prefer leg protection. I wouldn't mind being able to get some air when I'm out of the underbrush though. Any suggestions? I honestly haven't even seen anybody wearing a pair since the 90's... lol.
