The good thing is that anything flammable can be used in a Zippo, which is a great as you can pretty much refill it anywhere witha nything: gasoline, hand sanitizer, denatured alcohol... When /out/, it's not so good as you need to carry additional fuel, but then just a small vial can easily last you for three months.
The best you can find is something called "F essence" in Europe. It's a rather specific thing, vaguely similar to white gas, but then it's not just white gas. It costs like 2€ for 1L, and it's enough for more than a year.
Also, you can learn to rub parafine in the cap to prevent it from leaking, or just put a ranger band around it.
