>>2704079>"Ooga booga must build little monuments in parks"This is something humans have done since prehistoric times, why are you so insistent on being above human nature? I hope you never clear away sticks or rocks or leaves to put down a tent or heaven forbid build a pit for a campfire. Better not disturb nature in any way under any circumstances!
>>2704080>I don't think it's about pretending you're Lewis and/or ClarkWhen the majority of the argument is about "destroying the sense of discovery" and being "reminded that someone else was here first" it certainly seems like that's a big component to it. When I see a stack of rocks, I just think, "Hey, someone else was here and stacked up those rocks. Neat, look how tall they got it," and then I continue on my way unbothered and enjoying nature all the same.
>>2704083It's not destructive unless you can demonstrate that it is. For example, I agreed that removing rocks from a river and stacking them up on the shore is indeed destructive and shouldn't be done. I don't see how taking some rocks from the ground and stacking them up on the same ground is destructive, and no one has done anything to explain how it is.
