>>2704368it absolutely can happen even if it is really rare. happened to Teddy Roosevelt for instance. that said, his admitted past of basically dropping out of society to avoid social pressure as a young man does make it seem more likely he is just lying as an excuse to explain away big gaps in his motivation to actually make content. some people don't handle the pressure to consistently show up and do work very well and some of them can be really avoidant or anxious and do this sort of thing, make up big lies and disappear for stretches of time. some people also have executive dysfunction and/or really don't want to let other people down so they do this sort of shit
it definitely could be real but I have worked with and known enough flakey people to understand some of their motivations and he gives a lot of those vibes
