>>2705317A long time ago I had a pond in my back yard filled with rain water no pump or anything and I caught some mosquito fish in a homemade funnel trap so I put like 5 of them in the pond to see what would happen. It was usually full of tadpoles and mosquito larva. Those 5 fish turned into like 300 within a year, I forgot about them and years later looked at the pond and there were still mosquito fish living inside it. Checked again at around the 10 year mark and they were still there. Then everything in it died and now I have this pond shell full of dirt. 160 gallons.
There was still mosquito larva but way less. Now that there’s no water in that pond there’s no mosquitos.
The best way to eliminate them is remove still water sources. If you can’t do that mosquito fish help a lot, easily 50%.

>>2706443>>2706509Yup, I’ve caught LMB peacock snakehead snook tarpon variety of cichlids talapia jacks perch mollies guppies crabs giant prawns crawfish catfish gar carp I’ve even seen red drum, sheepshead, and pickerel, and pacu in canals here. I follow a guy who sets traps in the canals and random lakes and shows what he found, keeps some of the interesting stuff. Rare stuff like red bristlenose plecos for example. Sometimes he’ll get crazy looking fish that were released, just leaving the traps overnight.
