you are a man of STONE. you do not get mad at dumb shit your kid does. (at least you don't let on that you're mad).
you are only hitting the kid in a calm state where you're like

so, this might mean you have to let some shit off with a warning the first time because you didn't think of making a rule. OR you have to let it off with a warning even though it's a lot like a rule you already had, because you have to know your kid is still a dumbass kid and didn't understand he more or less broke that rule because what he did was a bit different.
no fucking tantrums or giving your kid the silent treatment or some shit after you do it.
you might think "i feel really bad now because i hit him so now i'm not gonna talk to him for a few hours."
in his animal kid mind he is like
