Its all fine, you need GOOD BOOTS. Last year my old ones were so worn out my socks were soaked after. Rain in my groceries can be annoying but you need to pack properly. Anything made of paper belongs into backpack. Otherwise ice is most annoying, because there is real danger to fall or slide and when I go back I will always be heavily loaded.
Still this is preferable to be "culturally enriched" on the way to the store it looks about like this (pic related) depending on the route I can choose between a steep but muddy hill (which I avoid because the forest machines ruined a lot there) or a gravel road with holes and puddles. Steep route is shorter but more challenging. In winter I avoid it especially because its also very dark there and with all the destruction now its hard to walk even with good boots.
