>>2708110You're so wrong it hurts to read
>free moneyYou're on call 24/7, for whatever duty at whatever time they feel like. Your salary is taxed, which is funny because taxes pay your salary. They give you a "clothing allowance" and then force you to buy more shit than the allowance can afford, which means it comes out of your own pocket.
>preferential hiring rateNot since around 2010, most employers don't give a shit about military service and are more interested in hiring college graduates for unpaid internships or meeting DEI quotas that do not include you
>pensionsNot before you turn 55, and in a few years it goes up to 57. By the time you're 57 it'll be 70 or some shit
>sign on bonusTaxed all to shit, and you get it in installments so you can't do much with it. If you separate before end-of-contract for any reason you have to pay back the entire bonus BEFORE taxes, but the good news is they can do a payment plan with interest.
>free housingThe most accurate thing you said, but still shit. Single soldiers get put in the worst housing available so the only way you get decent living conditions is if there was literally no room elsewhere. If you're married you can get a house on base which is subject to random inspections by Housing or your leadership, or you can use your BAH to rent an apartment off base.
>asvabScore low, get put with crayon munchers and felons in the motorpool or kitchen. Score high, get to work with pretentious fucksticks.
