walden sucked. I only slightly enjoyed the last 10-20 pages or so. such an overrated book. thoreau himself was cool though. also probably gay.

I agree that he's inspiring and ever sometimes mind-blowing. I much prefer his works to RWE, even though he was sort of an understudy. His sensibilities and meditations are underrated and valuable imo.

I bought Walden and tried to read it but man it's a bunch of swollen outdated drivel.

don't get me wrong, for all I know I relate to the message but it's outdated and his points could be made on maybe 2 pages total.

I hate that people pretend old = good when it comes to literature.
