Left-to-right...
>Day pack
probably 8-year-old wenger swiss-army-knife pack. Enough room for work equipment, computer, water bottle, snacks, binder or two, radio, pens/pencils, cables, safety glasses, checkbook, etc etc etc.
>Multi-day/carry-a-ton-of-shit pack
Old-ass Wenzel internal-frame pack. Did Philmont with this in the late 90s. When I load up all my camera gear and disappear for a night, this is what I take.
>Snow/winter pack
Snowpulse (now Mammut) Highmark II airbag pack; my $1000 backpack. Used exclusively for backcountry snowmobiling.
>Moto day pack
HMK Backcountry. It's actually a snowmobile pack, with space for shovel/probe, but works very well in the dirt. About the same volume as my swiss-army-day-pack, but it's narrower so it doesn't get caught on trees when I'm riding. Waterproof and tough, with a waist/chest strap so it doesn't bounce around.
>Pelican 1600
my luggage. I can cram a week's worth of shit in there. Have a slightly smaller 1550 for the 2- or 3-day trips I do for work.
Also nice because it's usually handled as "oversize luggage", so it doesn't come out on the carousel at airports very often, it's usually in the special oversize area or at the claim desk.
