It's not a bad starting bike, but you should know that around 600 miles, I had to replace every single part except for the frame.
The frame is still going strong. It's not a bad bike for a beginner. Beginners tend to beat the shit out of their equipment, so you shouldn't start on anything too expensive.
Replacing all of the parts made me realize why people spring for those more expensive bikes. If you buy cheap, you end up having to double the price of the bike on maintenance costs. Nevertheless, it was a learning experience.
> Someone else told me about tubeless tires and I hope I don't get a flat when I go. That would suck ass. Bro, I would not recommend tubeless tires for a beginner. They are a giant pain in the ass and they're kind of a meme.
> I figure I didn't need a soft tail because the trails aren't that bad looking Softtails are another meme. In the beginning my tailbone really hurt but in the long run I was glad I rode a hardtail because it helped me fix my riding technique, which eliminated the tailbone pain.
Learn on hardtail, then try a softtail for your second bike if you want to compare them. Hardtail will also reduce your costs and maintenance quite a bit.
