Military anons are probably a lot more familiar with this, but heavy packs will add significant stress to your body, it will have you burn a lot more calories, and generally slows you down. Not saying you need to go full UL autism, but take note if what they do, and find a good medium. Inpersonally invest in light gear, but also comfort, like wider sleeping pads, sleep systems more tailored to my prefered style, booties, etc. this will make your time /out/ significantly more enjoyable. Also be realistic about what you'll actually need and what you intend to do /out/. I prefer to walk, so a light load, snacks, primarily sleep gear and food/water is needed. Thats also why I invest a little extra weight into my sleep gear so I can recover well and be able to walk long distances day after day.
