Just bring hobbies with you. Learn to deal with bugs and keep varmints out of your vehicle as car sitting still for long periods could be an issue. Carry pepper spray. I used bucket traps but harder to use with big animals around. Believe me there is no friendly way to deal with varmints.
Prepare for nights being colder than you think or sleep will be a nightmare. Not sure what part of us you are in
