>>2735835I think you missed the part when I said it isn't just you. She probably corrected several people that day. Again, you are not the only person to ever USE the park, and you are not special. Order must be maintained and rules must be enforced or people with your attitude do what ever. This is a teaching moment. Just because you are in a park doesn't mean to behave like a child. The rules apply to you too. Leave No Trace step 2 is to stay on the path. Yes, I am a ranger. People always say "I'm not hurting anything", or "just this once". What they don't understand is that they are they hundredth person I politely corrected that day. Then I don't go to the AC, then I go do facility maintenance, vehicle maintenance, trail maintenance, volunteer support, exotic plant removal, or respond to an emergency call, or a weak ass complaint call. I don't enjoy correcting people. We have plenty of signs to do that. I assure you, I have done more critical first aid than you have gone kayaking. I'm also a certified kayak instructor and trip leader. I'm the guy that would rescue you. We have donated our lives to nature and service. Laugh all you want, but I love my job, just not all of the visitors.
