>>2737937The best milk I know, currently, is a non-organic pasture dairy that sells pasteurized but non-homogenized whole milk in returnable glass bottles. You have to shake it before pouring because the cream rises while it sits in the fridge. It all comes down to Terroir, ie the genetics of the cows and what they eat/the conditions they live in, and how the milk is handled after the milking.
Organic is better than CAFO milk, because raising organic cows in confinement is essentially impossible, which means it will have better terroir than the cheap gallons at the grocery store, but milk from an outfit that pays attention to terroir will be superior regardless of whether or not they cows are properly treated for mastitis or foul, and non-organic approved veterinary medicine is far more humane and effective than the organic cope methods, so I try not to buy organic animal products, and instead pay better attention to what the farmers are doing.
Organic standards are great for plant foods though.
