Does anyone know a website or place to buy quality bows? Not crossbows either. I want to get into archery and want to know where to start. Compound and traditional are good.

To truly love archery is to go out picking sticks in thorny bushes and scraping bird roadkills to make arrows from scratch because it's so tedious and so unnecessary one has to be an absolute fanatic even to consider it, let alone find satisfaction in practicing it. Most people are not like that.

Compound and trad are two radically different things. Compounds are heavy and specialized, have no takedown capability, extremely fragile, high maintenance, and you can't even make your own wooden arrows for them because they're too powerful, stump shooting is out of the question too for the same reason. Laminated trad bow is just a spring that you can disassemble in 3 seconds and fit in a pack, no maintenance required other than string waxing, and you can shoot anything you can find, usually weigh less than a loaded Glock. Go trad if you want a practical all-purpose weapon system for survival. Compounds are for fat guys in tree stands on private property just killing deer for photo opportunities.

If it's the former
TONS of shops so many the most i can name off the top of my head are cabelas
bass pro shop and academy.

Your best bet is going to local store or making the trek to a cabelas/bass pro shop.
The service there is bound to be more consistent than going to your local shop. I remember when i first started i was made fun of at my local shop for wanting to hunt with a 50# recurve.
I jumped from 30# to 40# and can hold draw on 40 for 30 seconds and can make decent shots at 27 yards. Never went back to that store and they recently filed for backruptcy(karams a bitch)

there's also trick shot shooting, and even action shooting.
There's also specialization
like using 110#+ warbowd

With trad/recurve you have all the advantages that anon listed and you also have a more legitimate bow-shooting experience. Compounds are impressive machines though, I always thought they were cool as fuck at the archery club as a kid, especially when they were also used with release aids. I always admired how closely people could group their arrows (to the point of almost splitting them down the middle) but I'm glad that I shot recurves.

i mean, it's not like recurve archery or archery in general requires you to be able to bench 300lbs and squat 600lbs

a lot of archers, recurve included from what ive seen are fat as fuck, especially warbow archers
people are more focused on if you can hit the target and not if you look good doing it
