I also doubt it was crunchy granolas getting stuck, maybe getting hurt but not likely granolas getting lost and stuck, more like tourists and browns doing that.
Whenever I read about someone in the paper they were always 20ft from safety and made a wrong turn OR just stopped there because they were finally too scared and didn’t want to get more lost OR they decided to climb the nearby cliff to see where the river leads instead of just following water downstream until safety and they got stuck on the cliff ledge.

I guess if you live in NJ and there’s 10k hunters per sq mile then maybe the cops would be out there, but western forests are fucking huge and unmonitorable
