>>2740902I was re-sodding my yard years ago, and noticed my dog playing with something. She had caught a little sparrow and was tossing him around. After shooing her away, I picked up the sparrow and took a look. He was a little chewed up, but still seemed alert and not horribly injured.
I set him down away from the dog to give him a chance to fly away. He tried to hop a bit, but I could see his wing wasn't hanging right.
I picked him back up and crushed him in my gloved hand. Then I threw him in the trash and got back to re-sodding.
On a more positive note, we used to get a lot of bunnies in the yard (we move a lot) and she'd try to chase and eat them. I once stumbled upon a baby bunn hiding in the grass from the dog, and managed to shoo her away from violently devouring it. I hope that bunn is okay
