>>2741674Hikers are made. I come from a family of fat, tv-watching blobs and was one myself growing up. I wasn't born a hiker and only started when I was 30. Now I hike year-round, at least once a week, and have done some big hikes like Mt. Whitney and Grand Canyon rim to river and back in under a day. Plus some longer backpacking trips with the longest being the Quehanna Trail in the middle of winter that involved lots of night hiking. The next time I find myself between jobs, I am going to do a major thru-hike, probably the CDT because it's less crowded with normies like the coastie trails.
