I'd have to look up the exact details, but two parts I like are the bald eagle state forest, you can enter near the spring
omg finally found it:
https://pabucketlist.com/exploring-indian-wells-overlook-in-centre-county/ok there's a NICE campsite at this overlook and also check out the alan seeger old growth area below it, if you hurry you can catch some awesome rhododendron blooms in the valley
but yeah that's a nice part of the mid state trail and there's surrounding state forest you could link up a longer route with
but my #1 pick it sand run falls, the water levels are low so it will be a LOT easier, but there's mid state trail along babb creek near arnot pa there's three different points you could park at and hike to the main waterfall and then you could just stay on the mid state trail for a few days or find connecting trails, there's tons, you could get lost in the tioga state forest there for weeks its pretty remote
babb creek is gorgeous
also hammersley wild area, its wilderness, so the trails are in shitty shape except the main trail to the main overlook, you park on a dirt road and take the twin sisters trail from the north end 2 mi each way, you could take the entire 10 mi twin sisters trail down to the main road but its pretty overgrown after the overlook and it does connect into loops through the nearby hollers and there's a semi-famous swimming hole along hammersley fork there and the susquehannock trail is routed through that area so you could hop onto that for a more long distance route
