Paracord is “bad” because it’s too thin and abrasive to comfortably support your own weight and too weak to safely climb with and it’s popular as a poorly considered survival tool by people who make man bracelets.
I like the stuff myself, I keep a hank in the pack for lashing together bundles and safety lanyarding things to their mounts, making clothes lines, replacing broken boot laces, hanging trash bags, etc. But anything “paracord survival” (bracelets, knife handles, etc) is pretty dumb and gay.
