>>2764751Well, for me personally, there are 3 knife types I like for /out/ shit.
First is for my work, which is at sea, and I have to cut a metric fuck ton of ropes, here I like a simple serrated Mora in stainless.
It's not high end or fancy, but ropes and salt water will fuck up any knife, so I keep it economical and practical.
Second is a general camp knife, the good old leuku is the best there is, at least for me and my use cases, I like an 8" blade.
Good at chopping, can spread butter on my bread, can gut a fish if needed and it's pretty good at whittling for all your sharp stick needs.
Third is a compact folding knife, this is mostly for food processing, cutting meats, gutting and filleting fish, skinning game, etc.
When I go innawoods, I usually carry second and third, or only one of them depending on what I'm doing.
