>>2758978I live in central Europe and own a rab microlight. Slightly thinner than pic rel, but for my needs good enough. Its almost too warm for me when walking fast, specially uphill even on the coldest of winter days (typical range for winter in my area would be 5 degrees to -5). Find myslelf having to unzip it to loose heat a lot kn hikes. So its cozy for our winters in combination with a wool sweater (I am skinny and get cold fast). If I know I am walking fast somewhere I often opt for a thinner synthetic insulation jacket. If I know ill be more stationary somewhere, like walking slowly in town, at camp or when climbing and hanging out at the crag, I opt for down. Maybe this gives you some indication on the fill power. Besides that, Rab quality is very good.
>water repellantno matter what the marketing says, no down jacket is water repellant. Dont bother spending more for a "more" repellent model, they are all equally shit. I would not go anywhere with a downjacket without an emergency shell or poncho in my bag or unless I know for certain it won't rain or I can get home quickly.
