Mosquitoes are a huge reason why I don't give a shit about nature or environmental causes. This planet is clearly cursed, a great big mistake. If God is real then he's either evil or retarded or just doesn't give a shit. I only go outside to practice survival skills in case I have to live as a fugitive or the economy collapses or something. Most of the planet is an uninhabitable shithole and we already built sprawling cities over the few good places.

You've never been to the Northeast. Up here the mosquitoes form literal clouds and make your life absolute hell 24/7 from May to September. The natives used to migrate to the coast every summer just to live on the beach and escape the mosquitoes.

Eh you still eventually get used to it. I'm in central Ontario and went on a long hike after a rainstorm hunting for newts. Forgot my spray. After 30-40 mosquito bites I just didn't notice them anymore and none of them itched or bothered me. Since that day I'm still not bothered by them (immunity?) Unless they fly directly into my eye, which does suck. Black flies/horse flies are terrible, not just the bites, but the incessant buzzing around is just annoying AF.

it is sorta a mindaltering drug and you'd need to take really small doses frequently to stay protected from the itch but if you take benadryl it will make things better. humans are allergic to mosquito saliva, that's the whole reason they suck so much. Having them on you and sucking your blood is annoying but if they don't leave big itchy spots it's not so bad
