Congrats, OP.

My older son is Order of the Arrow and almost made it to Eagle (moved and the local troop sucked, not entirely his fault). My younger son got his Bobcat yesterday. My wife and I are his Tiger Cub leaders so this group, at least, will do some real scouting.

Congrats from another Eagle. Got mine 12 years ago.

Pic related, from my eagle project... ripped out a concrete pad and fence around where the dumpsters used to be kept at the church, and repainted the troop shed.

I've been toying with the idea of volunteering with the boy scouts recently. I'm just 25, and in grad school, so I don't want to be a leader or anything, I just thought it would be a fun thing to get involved with.

How religious is the organization? Would I have trouble participating if I don't really practice anything?

Are they all homolust pedos? Are /out/ volunteers even needed?

I was only in the scouts for like three years. Quit after we had a sleepover and some kid stole the fun size m&m's out of my pillowcase.

Every troop is different. If you live innacity or in a generally "blue" state you should be fine in terms of religion. They're generally pretty good about getting rid of pedos (huge liabilities obv). Usually they'd be happy for volunteers.
