I'm a wild fruit fanatic and I'm under a lot of stress preparing for the big fruit season (late summer-fall) because I want to get everything, but there's just too much. Mayapples, chokecherries, beach plums by the end of August, and then right into pawpaws, wild grapes, autumn olives, and then cranberries, persimmons, nannyberries and other viburnums. Feral apple. Probably another dozen others I didn't list. And they all grow in different habitats. And then once it's all harvested, gotta process them. And then figure out what the hell to do with them. And of course I'm also a nut fanatic, hickories, black walnuts, acorns, maybe even hazelnuts this year. Fortunately I can get those while I'm out getting fruit, but god damn it's a lot of work.
I don't wanna miss out on anything and have to wait a full year before I can taste them again. I missed pawpaw season last year and im not gonna miss it again.
Pic rel some wineberries from a month ago.
