But meals for a few days that you put together yourself and only require boiling water? Good luck. Some things cross over, but not many. You could just bring whatever, but if you’re looking to minmax weight, packability, and nutritional density, then you’ll need to put something together yourself.
Skurka’s beans and rice goes with me on every trip. It’s dehydrated refried beans, instant rice, taco seasoning, cheese, and Fritos. Excellent macro balance, high calorie density, and very tasty. Google it.
Instant rice, chorizo sausage, and tomato powder make an excellent combination. Try adding Italian seasoning or red pepper flakes.
It sounds gross, but Bear Creek cheddar and broccoli soup pairs surprisingly well with tuna in oil. Add extra cheese. Instead boiling water, add the soup mix to cold water then heat it. Great cold weather meal.
I’ve been working on a gumbo recipe but you probably don’t have access to legit shelf stable andouille, and you might have to buy instant roux online.
