I was an Ontario Ranger for a season, and helped supervise a ranger camp the next. It's a government program for 17 year-olds that randomly selects applicants and gives them jobs at different remote camps innawoods doing outdoorsy shit for the local government (provincial parks mostly). Wages were decent, the food was good and it was pretty much the coolest summer job ever. In my 2 years with 2 different camps of 30 in 2 different regions, I didn't see a single black person.
