My friend that I hiked the West Coast Trail with last year passed recently. I'm not very familiar with BC or Vancouver Island, but I'd like to go back and reminisce.
WCT reservations are quite hard to get and I don't have time to go on a long backpacking hike like that, but does anybody have any suggestions for something with a similar vibe of rugged PNW cliffs, beaches and forests? Maybe one or two nights - something where it's still a real hike through the muck and mud, but one where I can afford to stuff my ruck with beer to drink while I watch the sunset at camp.
Where would you guys go for that?
