>>2767191If the bark has horizontal banding it's a cherry, if it has vertical splitting of the bark (like a Doug fir but much smaller) it's a plumb tree.
Cherry flowers are usually notched at the end while plumb are *usually* smooth at the end.
Plumb tree flowers are also 1 flower per stock where cherry flowers grow in bunches.
I always go by the bark because there are so many types of each that have been cross bread for hundreds of years and the trees don't always have flowers on them.
