First aid is not the best application for duct tape. Use actual medical tape. The paper stuff is strong and adheres well, and allows your skin to breathe -- something that duct tape does not do.
You risk making a wound worse with it.

Super glue was designed by the military to help patch people up in lew of stiches. A good modern day superglue will carry an antiseptic. I recommend liquid bandages. I got a 3 inch gouge from a gass shattering in hand. I cleaned it up with some alcohol wipes and sealed it up with liquid bandages. It stayed sealed fora week and a half.

I have some serious doubts about actual superglue. "Liquid bandages" sounds more appropriate, though I've never heard of them before.

The point of packing a wound with gauze is that that you can clean the wound, repack it, and prevent infection. Sealing it up with glue is the exact opposite of that. And like I said, liquid bandages may be different, if that's expressly what it was designed for (and would surely then be antiseptic). I still have reservations, though, and Elmer's glue is right out, in any situation.

Funny how it feels like some people go /out/ with next to no first aid.

Yet some people seem to be walking ambulances, to the point that it's not "first aid" anymore, but more like "the only aid you'll need because I have everything already bro".

Otherwise, I myself carry:
- enough stuff to clean wounds and protect them: gauze, wetwrap, tape and alcohol/iodine disinfectant
- a tourniquet for bad situations
- tweezers and scissors
- plenty, plenty meds and ointments for common (and very problematic) problems

Light, simple, and enough for what I call "situations worth fighting against", or in other others, I consider that you don't need more stuff than you could possibly use before being dead.
Like, no need for a dozen tourniquets and 10 miles of tape, because you'd already be dead before you can use even half of that.

Pic related is the only situation when I don't carry a first aid kit, for pretty obvious reasons.

I have a light in my pack but your right it couldn't hurt to have a small one in there
I have magnifying glass in my fire kit and mirror in my grooming kit. so those are covered.

ive also been hearing a lot of mixed things about quick clot. mainly that it dosent stop bleeding just seals it. hurts like fuck and can really fuck you up if you get it in your eyes

Quickclot is shit and a pain to clean out of wounds.
Its only use should be on massive deep holes that will kill you before you can be taken to hospital.
I take super glue for cuts.
Elastoplast for grazes
A needle and some collagen plasters for blisters.
A roll of medical tape and some gauze pads.
A packet of Ibuprofen for taking in the mornings to take the edge off the previous days injuries/strains.

Super glue was designed as just another plastic in the 1940's It's adhesive properties weren't recognized until the 1950's. It was used to seal wounds as part of a study in Viet Nam, and it worked pretty well, but the formula used in household adhesive can have irritating effects on the tissue where it is applied and can cause heat damage as it cures. The modern medical type is the kind used in Band-aid brand Liquid Bandages and surgical Dermabond is a slightly different formula that causes less irritation and doesn't generate as much heat as it cures.
You can use the hobby stuff on yourself if you want to, but you would get sued and probably arrested if you used it on somebody else.
tl,dr; buy liquid bandages if that's what you want to use

Clutch for stabilizing a traumatic wound and extending the window for transport to a hospital. Also Quikclot pads and "kitty litter" are pretty much shit because of the limited usage. Z-fold and other cloth with imbedded Quikclot is much superior because you're either stuffing into a gushing hole or folding over a long and deep gash.

The newer recipe for Quikclot is supposed to create much less heat so less risk of burns and added pain. A very good alternative is Celox which is also a hemostatic agent that performs very comparably but easier to remove and the gauze/celox can actually work to treat 1st and 2nd degree burns.

All that said, needing Quikclot is scant inches from needing a tourniquet. Proper direct pressure with bandages is a staple skill and should always be performed first.

they add a lot of weight but molle isnt for ultralight fags, and honestly if the journey is too easy it doesnt feel as great for me. hell my bag alone weighs more than 10 pounds without pouches on it.

i dont carry around a plate carrier but my pack has them on its belt for first aid, snacks, and navigating stuff.

If they get really bent out of shape they start to get pointy in spots though. That would be after a lot of use though.

You also need to know how to splint stuff into anatomical position, most people get that stuff wrong, especially when it's the wrist.

Drop that shit, it just doesn't work. It never has. It can't pump far enough to actually extract venom, all it's going to do is to make things worse by causing unnecessary and useless skin injuries as you struggle to extract anything.

The only thing to do is to calm down, remove any clothing and accessory that could cause some compression (belt, socks...), lie down somewhere cold and protected from the sun, ideally under an emergency blanket with the gold side on the inside and the silver on the outside, apply anything cold you could find on the bite, drink a lot of water, and call for help. In case of pain, NO FUCKING ASPIRIN OR ANYTHING SIMILAR, only paracetamol.

Indeed, what little you can cram into an Altoids tin (pretty much just a few Band-Aids) is useless
for any kinda BOB situation and if it isn't a BOB type situation, you'll have access to a better
stocked first-aid kit anyway.

I could see maybe keeping one in the glovebox of your car but even then, you have more then
enough room for a better stocked first-aid kit.

Prevents blisters. No one said it was bad, but it's not first-aid. All you have to do is puncture them at the base with a (sterile just in case) safety pin and drain the fluid. Finish it with a bandaid and some tape. They heal pretty fast.
