So I'm making an emergency "go" type box for the trunk of my SUV. I found this on Amazon for a good deal. Can anyone recommend what all I need in it? I'm on a budget. Let's say 80 dollars. But I'm building it little by little. I have some stuff already in my car but it's not very organized.

Depends where you live. You should always have water at the very least. A flashlight with spare batteries. Toilet paper. Hand sanitizer.

I'm not going to go out listing everything you need, because everyone needs different things based on health, location etc.

What you should be thinking about is, for example, how can the storage container be used both for storage of goods and maybe also as an object you can drag? Hold liquids in? Be reflective so it can be put beside your car in an emergency. This is how you build an effective kit you can also make mobile and cut down on weight and waste. Also, write everything down and note expiry dates on medications or other items in the container.

What kind of emergency are you preparing for? Do you intend to stay with your vehicle, or hike somewhere else? For $80 your options are pretty limited regardless. I'd start with:
-A few pouches of beans and rice (easier to pack than cans and don't need an opener)
-A blanket or sleeping bag warm enough for the coldest night you expect to encounter
-Foam sleeping pad and a pillow
-Several gallons of water (probably jugs in a separate crate)
-Coolant, oil, transmission, and brake fluids
-Basic tools to change out tire/battery
-Durable, comfortable change of clothes and a pair of old hiking boots in your size.
-Warm jacket
-Rain poncho
-Sun hat
-Sunscreen and bug spray
-A comfy, well organized thrift store backpack
-Toothbrush/paste
-Power bank and charger cords
-Basic FAK/booboo kit with bandaids, pain meds, etc. Trauma supplies probably aren't a big deal here but I'd keep those in your car too for potential crashes.

That probably comes to about 80 if you're smart about it and will give you the ability to either hunker down or hike a medium distance (albeit probably not very comfortably). Also, I can't tell how big that box is, but you would probably save money and have more space just getting a plastic hardware store tote off craigslist.

get a portable power station in the 300 Wh range, like a bluetti or something. Don't cheap out... avoid the sketchy Amazon brands. it's come in super handy for me multiple times. If you get stranded it's really nice to have some power to charge phones, lights, power an inflator, battery tender, etc. Keep it 80 percent charged. Lithium iron phosphate batteries are pretty bullet proof. Other than that, stick to basics--bush knife, two lighters, head lamp (keep in plastic bag with a silicon moisture absorber to avoid the terminals corroding), $100 cash hidden in there, etc.

This guy gets it. You need to know what your top (let’s just say) 3 scenarios, they’re likelihood to happen, and then you can develop a list. Personally, I have a very small kit with the most likely thing being a long walk home. Camping gear or the ability to stay at my car would be most comfy (like many are suggesting) but if I have that level of emergency then I’m getting home to my family.
