>>2768540Whatever the fuck i want, why would you overthink it? Just pack what you like, if it's an outing that requires some energy expenditure keep to the carbs for the day, protein for the evening rule. Good staples are:
- instant anything with high carbs, potatoes, rice flakes, oatmeal
- fast calories, any kind of nuts, raisins, dried fruit, shelf stable grain or fruit bars, hard boiled candy (coffee ones are awesome)
- unironic hard tack with cumin seeds (you get used to it and mulling it slowly as you go is pretty nice
- protein, if you are a normal person anything meat, jerky, pate, vienna sausage, if you are on foot aim for the tinfoil "cans" as they weigh next to nothing on the packaging front, if you have some hauling capacity (something with wheels), go for a good old can on animal bits, a weird one but underappreciated, gym rat protein shake powder, not very tasty but you can't beat the protein per weight, if you are a vegetaria/vegan - idk, eat some grass, not my problem
- electrolyte drink tabs, again, weigh almost nothing and one pack gives you literal gallons of kinda tasty stuff to drink over the day
- some small quantity goodies like honey or peanut butter keep well for few days even if not cooled, sugar holds forever if you keep it dry
- you can throw in a small amount of instant milk and cocoa powder, of course coffee or tea as preferred
- if you feel like bleeding money you can also go with pre-made dehydrated/freeze dried meals, but i fail to see the point in those, military mres are neat but heavy AF
What definitely not to take: chocolate if it's over 15degC (whatever it is in made up temperature scale), soda of any description, raw potatoes, anything that can be crushed/pierced and leak.
