basically the first thing you do is get to the spot where it is growing from the ground. usually when we did this (~5 person group) we would have 3 with machetes opening it up
then a guy (often this was my job) to use picrel to hit the area about 15cms under the base of the plant (you want the blade to intersect the roots 15cms under the soil). then just kick it out of the ground
finally the last person would bag it all up and when all the blackberry plants were chopped all of us would help pack them up and then scour the area making sure we didnt miss any
picrel and above technique for hitting the roots under the soil helps with every weed btw
