i see reviews saying that it works better than DEET, and then reviews saying that it doesn't do anything, whats the deal?

also, partly for the same reason as the other anon, i'm interested in using PMD
i don't wanna risk hurting my animals by using pesticides on my clothes / skin, and if pmd works fine enough, i'd rather use it

I've had positive experience with it, I only really use it for mosquitoes and not on my dog, don't think I'd trust it to keep ticks off, especially not long term

Smells fucking awful and that cloud probably repels a fraction of mosquitos but it doesn't do a lot. Don't spray it anywhere near where you want to stand long term that cloud is fucking awful to breath around.

It's bullshit, use ir 3535 if you want an alternative to deet (for mosquitoes). For ticks, picardin is good, but not for mosquitoes.

I have seen some papers report an effect. the best 'green' deet free stuff is a combination of several oils and scents. There's a few, it definitely seems to help with mosquitoes at least. Hard to judge ticks. Still not as good a DEET or pic but I also don't like putting DEET on my skin and especially my face. So if you're wearing shorts or want something for mosquitoes on your head it works alright.

I switched to this stuff over deet because I hate deet. I can say for sure that it works great for repelling fresh water mosquitos. It does not work on ticks; use permethrin for that.

i saw one with a bunch of oils, but it also uses [s:lit]oybean oil as it's carrier, and i don't care for the idea of rubbing literally just 90% oil all over myself, with like 10% being a few other oils
if it was like pmd, and used alcohol as the base, i wouldn't mind it

nice, my main issue is mosquitos
with ticks, i'd rather just properly dress to keep most of them off of me & pull the rest of the stragglers

Just because mosquitos don't like certain types of plants doesn't mean that oils from them will keep mosquitos at bay.
