>>2782838In New Zealand it's just "the bush", degree of mossiness varies but some areas are absolutely covered in them especially on the west coast of the South Island that receives insane amounts of yearly rainfall (up to 10 000mm in some places, the Hoh rainforest in the USA is around 3600mm)
"Goblin forest" is also sometimes used for when the bush is getting close to the tree line (bush line) and trees get all gnarly and shit and even more covered in moss
I've been to some NZ forests where you could press your arm against a mossy tree all the way to your elbow until finally making contact with the trunk, such was the thickness of the moss blanket
They also make for extremely cozy mattress to lay on the forest floor but they are basically sponges full of water
