Low price winter clothes

Looking for winter clothes and warm enough for going /out/ in temperatures around 0 C. What kind of clothing is generally price efficient? Fleece? What about wool undies? Should you go for known outdoor brands on sale or get off brand stuff on sale?

if you live on the west coast use FB marketplace for that kind of thing. theres a lot of high end stuff for half or a quarter of MSRP cus consumption-addicted urbanites are constantly buying new stuff and selling all their lightly used old stuff

Depends on your size. If you wear women's small there's a huge amount of expensive outdoor gear on shopgoodwill that nobody bids on. If you wear men's large you can try to bid on possibly damaged shit for 2/3 new price or just bite the bullet and buy new.

Honestly 0 C is kind of bitch mode and doesn't warrant anything heavy (depending on the activity)
Wearing a winter coat in anything that involves movement will have you cooking eventually. Your idea of wool undies are probably more than enough, maybe wear a long sleeve shirt over that. You might want to consider a shell layer on top of that too for wind and snow.
Idk where you live though, but I'm assuming not American so I can't help you with recs

is down to 20F in the same tier as 32F? I'm gonna be outside hiking for like 5 hours at a time. was thinking hiking socks/boots, hat, gaiter, gloves, thermal underwear, a flannel and a light down jacket should be enough. and maybe bring some extra socks in case feet get wet. i'm diabetic so i need to take care of my feet

not that anon but 0c is pretty warm if you live in northern europe, sure snow and ice wont feel really good brushing against bare skin but hes not lying

That sounds fine for the most part, although like I said, a shell would be nice to protect against wind and snow. Also jeans are gonna be miserable if you get soaked. Idk where you live but if snow/sleet is a real consideration you want to keep the moisture off of you

The important thing is to keep snow off them. Either wear gaiters or high boots. If you wear high boots, it's not such a problem if the lower ends get snow éncrusted, they're outside the boot anyway and don't touch skin (or the silvers below).
