I recommend sowing native Fabaceae instead, they're very good for wildlife and many pollinator larvae rely specifically on them.

Depends on species but there are many that form a fast growing ground cover and some species, like black locust, grow 4 feet per season

There is a guy who owns like 6 acres and ripped all the trees down to sell it to a developer like 4 years ago and clears all the brush every spring keeping it a mud pit letting the dirt erode into the street every time it rains. Need something that grows quickly enough to cover it pretty quickly.

any I take it its not sold yet. You could try to fine some native milkweed seeds, those grow and spread somewhat fast.
There is probably native fabacea seeds you can find that will grow fast and add nitrogen to the soil.

the only reason kudzu is better is because you have to plant less of it. stop being a lazy farmcel and sow more seed
