>>27900>14 days with only a tent and some basic supplieYou're gonna need food. General rule-of-thumb is 2 pounds per day. You can get by with a little less if much of your food is dehydrated, or if you don't plan on hiking hardly at all, but you also have to factor in the weight of all the stove fuel for 14 days of food, which can vary depending on your stove. Anyway, 14 x 2 = 28 pounds, just for food. That's heavy, not to mention it's going to be bulky.
>>28020>Just surviving at the minimum. and moving too much isn't much of an option as i have a bad hipSo.... I have a question. What do you consider "just surviving" to mean? What do you plan on doing with yourself while you're out there? Will you read a book? Or...what? Because if you're not moving, then you're going to be BORED. And yes, this comes as someone who is an experienced backpacker. Boredom sets in pretty quickly for people who have nothing to do, especially if you're just coming from urban life. You're going to get out there, set up camp, and then come home the next day after you realize that you went camping without a plan or a clue.
