I've been in a few situations that were pretty dangerous or stupid, nothing I would consider truly life threatening.
First was when I was a kid, broke my ankle sledging down a big hill near where I lived, was stuck on the side of that hill for hours in the cold, came close to hypothermia, was rescued by a groundskeeper who lived miles away, because he saw me sledging through his binoculars, and noticed hours later I had not moved from the same spot on the hillside, so he drove up in his land rover and took me home. XD
Second time was in my teens, went exploring some abandoned mines with a friend, we became increasingly bold while down there, and one day we went down a few tunnels that we thought connected to a previously explored area. THEY DIDN'T, we back tracked and found the tunnels we had already mapped, but it was a stark reminder of how easy it was to get lost down there. We also clambered over freshly fallen rocks a few times and knew that at any moment the roof could fall on us and that would be a nasty way to go.

>>2792721Yep, this can happen at times of the year here when you think the weather is nice; and then night hits and you go from a sunny day wearing shorts and t-shirt to needing thermals...
>>2792728That's like the number one fear I have of kayaking, it's sailing and canoeing for me!
>>2792743I don't step on the boat until my life jacket is on and it doesn't come off until I step back on dry land ;)
