>>2808257>how do you find stations? just by scrolling through the channels?some i have looked up, for instance the political one is only live, like, the first friday of every month or something, so wouldnt have found taht "organically" butmine has a scan, so if im in a new area i just let it scan and flick through whatever it picks up. its just a dinky Chinese one (Quansheng UV-K5 dualband) but, one of my buddies is a nerd, and his boss is an even bigger nerd, so they did some nerd magic to the programing of it, for better UI and stuff, i would definitely get a "better" one in the future, perhaps even getting licensed, because then you can do some real cool stuff, so it isnt just a beefed up walkie talkie with a radio.
>what if you are remote?like, remote, remote? then i would probably invest in something satelite capable, but then we are waaaay out of budget for just a fun toy on camping trips, i dont know its exact range, but i can easily pick up my nearest airport from my house and thats just shy of 30Km (around 18 miles)
perhaps the airport isnt the best example because they have the loudest frequencies around, but still, with building in the way and stuff, pretty good for a Chinese radio.
there are ofcourse after market antennas that can boost your signal far beyond that
>>2808281>Classical music stationhavnt found one that just plays classical and doesnt also have, talking episodes with book authors and stuff, found a dedicated jazz one, but i despise jazz.
still comfy slow vibe listening
mine does have direct to NOAA, but since im not American, doesnt work, but we have our own equavlent, would be nice with a dedicated weather channel, we night have one, just havnt looked hard enough
>would be massive if you got lostoh definitely, if i was lost or injured i would hit broadcast on any frequency i could get my hands on, "ohh nooo you cant do that without a license!" fuck off give me the fine then
