>>2795746The amount is arbitrary, but I figure that would be a good hypothetical minimum for one person to live off of for 15-20 years, provided they owned their own land and home/cabin, and lived a self-sufficient lifestyle, such as growing most of their food and using renewable energy sources. Hell, you could park it in some fund that earns you a modest 5-7% ROI that nets you about 13-15k per year after taxes. Which I could see as being enough money to cover the miscellaneous expenses like property tax, parts & tools for repair, gas/propane, ammo, luxury food items, some clothing, etc.
