we have a lower population density than russia. you can do whatever you want here - nobody will stop you. there are no park rangers. if you see an "under surveillence" warning sign it is likely bullshit (wear nightvision, you will see that there are no cameras). most of our critical infrastructure installations also have no cameras and fake signs. it is one thing to worry about laws and enforcement on an island like britain where they're all packed in like sardines - but worrying about it here is just paranoid delusions. not saying you shouldn't behave responsibly, mind you

the nightfox swift is cheap, has a comfortable headstrap, and is reasonably weatherproof (although not certified, i think). you may not be able to see very far with the IR illuminator - or at all without it (your natural night vision will be better) - but you will be able to spot the glow of IR lights very easily.

You need to avoid anywhere a normie or international tourists would know about. The mountain towns and parks in the mountains west of Coffs Harbour are full of beautiful lush rainforests and fairly off the radar. Locals in these small towns away from the big cities truly dont give a shit about gay regulations and they aren't being raped by $1000 city rents to give a shit about the 0.5% chance of a fine.
