That one anon from /lit/ is still at it AFAIK. He went innawoods and found a spot you can't see unless you get right on it, no trails remotely nearby, and built a little hut. I don't want to drop out of society exactly but I do want to drop out of my place in it and start fresh but unfortunately you aren't allowed to do that anymore with the way all the bureaucracy and paperwork is setup. So it would basically also require dropping out of society since you can't live without being attached to an SS number

Was easier before all the van life homeless trends that caused society to look for and kick out people seen to be living that way.
Ten years or more ago it was entirely doable and most of society didn't consider it their business.
Elites and those that farm the population for taxes and a lootable economy hate anyone that finds a way out of the enslavement though, so once it seems trendy or they learn about it they add new ordinances and restrictions to try and force you back to generating taxes.

The homeless leaving trash and stealing anything nearby have caused normies to support the elites making it legaly difficult.
A lot of people including many retired used to live nomadic. Homeless people made them get noticed and made that life much harder.

You can always use rest stops, state/national campgrounds (often free), many walmarts. Some states allow you to park overnight on any public road. Many city parks allow it as well

I lived in my car for a while. Tried a few places. By the end I split my time between a walmart and a piece of public ground that I set a campsite up on.
The funny thing about the walmart parking lot was that you would notice a few of the other overnight regular parkers. Never once got harassed by cops or security.

I live in southern France. Winter is still too cold to live outside. I plan to travel to Guadeloupe (french Antilles) to scout the area, see how the locals are, maybe find caves and drinkable water spots.

I'm still not sure if I want to do it, but in a tropical climate/miami its entirely possible to sleep outside and beg for food. Probably not for everyone.

It's a really bad place to live remotely. The islands are seismically active and your caves will collapse and seal you alive. The locals are poor and black, and they scavenge in the wilds. If they catch you, you will disappear. The secret to the hermit is he moved nomadically at night and lived in lean-to's we would find but nobody saw him.

I suggest some other island. Kauai has spaces near the falls where people live remotely with goats, pigs and chickens. You can grow anything there, water is abundant and there is (dangerous) sea access for seafood. Fruits grow everywhere, although you will be disgusted by guava because all the fruit flies the dropped guava bring.

Kaczynski more or less did this but arguably not fully because he did ride into town for supplies occasionally. But he was mostly legit to the point of farming his own food and such.
