Or wrapping up. Puerto Rico isn't as large or rugged as some people need in their /out/instead, except...the sea. If you're into salt water anything, you're fine. But no hunting and shit like that.
Politics and culture
Every puertorrican that goes to school takes English from 1st grade to senior year of high school. The younger, the better they speak it. Myself, you wouldn't fucking know where I'm from. American cash is all that's used and American systems, the highways are part of the Interstate US system like I-95 despite not connecting to any state nor receiving money for them. They don't receive money because they refuse to comply with certain expectations such as, for example, in PR the legal drinking age is 18, to get the money, PR is asked to make it 21. It works out fine.
Never be a state. US doesn't want that. Not talking about Republicans. Like I said, I speak English and you would not know I'm from PR because I'm pale for a puertorrican too, I just look whiter than your average puertorrican. And I know, from speaking to people, from now living over here, the US doesn't want that. Not democrats either. Why buy the cow when you get the milk for free?
That being said, it's ALOT tamer than ANY other Latin American country. Is it shittier than most states? For sure. But I said most. The southern US should shut the fuck up. But its not nearly as bad as the Dominican Republic where the cops themselves rob you or Colombia where bitches regularly drug tourists and part of your budget is called "bodyguard".
So go to PR, specially for the natural side since it's not as cheap as other Latin American countries. It's particularly advantageous for Americans, one of the few places they can travel and they aren't secretly, or not so secretly, thought of as the worst group around. I'm saying most of the world hates Americans, puertorricans think of themselves as both so you don't get that contempt. Really, I mean it
