Yeah, who uses a sleeping bag with such a wide hood in winter?
I've camped out like that before, but even the ~5cm hole on my def 4 is letting in enough cold air that my breath condenses and freezes in my beard. Using one of those indoor sleeping bags sounds like torture.

Fire also isn't some "new" invention. They weren't freezing themselves to death and magically living. Your picture about them having frost on their eyebrows is pure larp. Yes, I can. Fire was invented over 1.5M years ago and there's evidence of this. Neanderthals roamed from 400k years ago to 40k years ago. Evidence for humans living in locations that had arctic conditions only dates back to 45k years ago and they were smart enough to make fire using bones.
