dont force yourself to like the group just because they are doing stuff you like, you dont have to like everyone, go to a couple different ones and see who you click with
another method is to convince a friend who knows nothing about outdoors to come with you, offer to teach them, there are probably plenty of people who can afford a set of skis but not skiing lessons. You can offer the lessons for free, or atleast for the price of going skiing with you so you arent alone
